
She was born April 10, 1930 in Louisville, KY. She graduated from Loretta High School in 1948 and Ursuline College (now Bellarmine University) in 1952. Ms. Sellman relocated with her husband and children to Virginia in 1965.
Ms. Sellman was married to John B. Sellman for 30 years before their divorce in 1986. Ms. Sellman had a long career working for the National Business Education Association (NBEA) for 27 years as Editor and Convention & Membership Coordinator, retiring in 1994.
She is survived by her three children, Lee Ann, Jack (Cindy) and Brian (Maryanne), four grand-children, Danielle Humphries, Justin Sellman (Carolyn), Amanda Sellman and Lindsey Helbringer (Mike) plus eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Mary Ann Hervey, and sister-in-law Pat Clifford, both of Louisville plus numerous nieces and nephews who knew her as Aunt Janie.
She lived the last 10 years of her life at Goodwin House in Falls Church, where she enjoyed many friendships and activities.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life is scheduled for March 8, 2024 at The Goodwin House located at 3440 South Jefferson Street, Falls Church, VA 22041 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged for one of the charities she donated to, So Others Might Eat (SOME) at www.some.org.
