HORST G. LINDENBERG August 15, 1937 - November 23, 2016 SGM U.S. Army (Ret.) (Age 79) SGM Horst G. Lindenberg, (Ret.) of Burke, VA passed away, Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Beloved husband to Gerhild Lindenberg (Heischel) to whom he married on July 23, 1971 (45 years of marriage). Horst is survived by his wife Gerhild Lindenberg of Burke, VA; his daughter, Caroline Lindenberg of Woodbridge, VA; and his son Michael Lindenberg of Woodbridge, VA. Also, survived by 2 step brothers and 1 step sister. Horst was born in Berlin, Germany to the late Gerda Lindenberg Shue and Konrad Artur Lindenberg on August 15, 1937. After graduating from the Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany with a BS in languages and economics, he entered the U.S. Army in Columbus, GA on October 02, 1963, assumed the of position of SGM, First Region, USACIDC, Fort Meade, MD in October 1986 and retired on May 31, 1991. Horst received numerous awards and medals which included the Legion of Merit. On Tuesday, January 17, 2017, Viewing 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, Service 11:00 a.m. at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd., Springfield, VA 22151 and the Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation to Army CIDAA (Attn: Warren L.
