Iris J Smith

Iris Andrews Smith, 88, of Alexandria, VA passed away on May 12, 2021 in Alexandria. Iris was born in Starkville, MS to the late Ira and Pauline Andrews on July 22, 1932. She was married to the late M/Gen Click Smith, Jr (Smitty). She graduated from Lee High School Class of 1950 and from Mississippi State College for Women Class of 1954. She was a member of McLean Bible Church, VA, a homemaker and a devoted Bible study teacher. Iris is survived by daughter Deborah and Rene Szabo of Owings Mills, MD, son David Smith of Manassas, VA, brother Ira and Susie Andrews, Jr. of Columbus, MS, grandson Ensign Joshua Szabo of San Diego, CA, granddaughter Marinda Szabo of Siloam Springs, AR, nephew Ike and Brandy Andrews and children Brantley and Spence of Madison, MS, niece Rose and Chris Hadfield and children Vivian and Lillian of Hanover, PA, nephew Sam and Natalie Andrews of Baltimore, MD. A graveside service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
