On Monday, January 31, 2011, J. Frank Campbell of Springfield, Virginia. He was born May 26, 1935 in Dunn, NC and graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1959 in the upper ranks of his class, and was commissioned to the Airborne. In 1966, he received an MS in Electrical Engineering from NC State, and fought in Vietnam 1966-1967. During 1967-1970, he taught Electrical Engineering at West Point, then consulted in Vietnam 1971-1972. He had various other assignments until his retirement as a Colonel in 1983. From 1983 to 2010, he worked at the Institute for Defense Analyses. Frank is survived by wife Christine, son Robert Lynn, a granddaughter, as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family in NC and VA. Services will be held Friday, May 20 at 1 p.m. at the Ft. Myer Chapel, Ft. Myer, VA. Interment with full military honors will follow at Arlington National Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Women's Memorial.
