Jacqueline Hanson

Sept. 24, 1924 – Mar. 16, 2012

Born in Savannah, Ga., she is the widow of, Lt. Col. Howell “Brick” Hanson Jr., and is survived by their four children, Howell R. Hanson III; Steve Hanson; David Hanson and Lynn Gulick. She is lovingly known by her nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren as “Muzzy.”

She and her family traveled many parts of the world throughout their military life until Brick’s retirement in Fort Walton Beach where they remained until she moved to Arlington, Va., to live with her daughter nine years ago after Brick’s death.

During her early years, she overcame a physical hardship that contributed to her strong will and determination that earned her the title of the “Warden.” She was a true Southern lady who loved to cook and entertain. She gave love and attention to everyone around her, especially her family who will miss her deeply.

We will miss her sense of humor, her get it “done now” attitude and her “2 minute” weekly phone calls. Jackie is finally reunited with the love of her life, Brick.

Funeral Service will be Friday, July 13, 2012, 8:45am at Ft. Myer Old Post Chapel, Ft. Myer with burial following at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
