Jane Leslie Cubbon, of Bristow, Virginia, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 67. Born in Ceres, California, on June 13, 1957, Jane lived a life full of love, service, and creativity.
Jane proudly served her country as an officer in the United States Coast Guard for a combined 28 years of Active and Reserve duty. Her commitment to service and her country was unwavering. Additionally, Jane's dedication to learning was evident throughout her life. She earned two master's degrees, with her most recent from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in Emergency Management.
After her distinguished military career, Jane channeled her passion for creativity into her small fabric shop, Daffodil Quilts and Fibers. Here, she shared her love for quilting, knitting, and needlepoint with the community. For those who received them, Jane's handmade gifts were a testament to her generous spirit and her ability to show love through her craft.
Jane is survived by her children, Arthur Cubbon and Kathryn Cubbon, and her brother, David Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius and Frances Hamilton. Jane's legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
In addition to her artistic talents, Jane was known for her culinary skills. She delighted in cooking and baking for her loved ones, creating meals that were as comforting as they were delicious. Her home was always filled with warmth and the aroma of her latest culinary creations.
Jane Cubbon will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of service, creativity, and love, and her memory will be cherished.
