January 7, 2015, at home, in Annandale, VA, by natural causes. Predeceased by parents Fred Baird Irwin and Eve Baylis Irwin, and husband Judge William G. Plummer II. Survived by daughter Leslie I. Plummer; sons William G. Plummer III and Charles Plummer: and granddaughter Jessica Plummer. Born in Portland OR, grew up in Hawaii and Maryland. 1956 Oregon Cherry Blossom Princess. Worked at U.S. Geological Survey and Group Health Association. Substantial volunteer career: 30 years with Fairfax Hospital Auxiliary. President, Virginia Hospital Auxiliary Association. Helped develop Capital Hospice (Arlington, VA) and Washington Area Transplant Consortium (Annandale, VA). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to "Heroes, Inc.", in name of Janice I. Plummer (1020 - 29th St., NW, Washington, DC 20207, heroes.org).
