Ms. Joneas as we referred to her was our neighbor.  She was indeed one of the nicest people I have ever met.  Always going out of her way to help people.   Every holiday she would bring over chocolates or cookies and   periodically she would would come over to check up on us and say hello.  I only have loving and caring memories of her.  She was so wonderful to me and my family, cared about us so much.  We loved her so much! 
We will cherish our memories of Ms. Jones.

Joan Donahue was my family's landlady back in 1997-1999 and we had been friends with her ever since. She was very easy to talk to and cared about us. She also took me out to the movies quite a bit. She took me to see my first PG-13 movie (Titanic), then Antz, Princess Diaries, and one more that I can't remember.
This photo is her at my wedding in June 2009, the last actual photo of her that I have even though we did meet more times after that. When I announced my baby daughter, she was thrilled and couldn't wait to see the baby. She gave some clothes and a rocking chair toy. The absolute last picture that I have connected to her is my little girl having just been born and going home in one of the outfits Joan gifted. I had called her to let her know that the baby had arrived, but received no response. It seemed unusual to me, but she did travel frequently and I figured she could be on some impromptu trip. It was a month later when I had received an email about her hospitalization and death. I miss her so much, but I know God is taking care of her. I pray that she is able to see my little girl like she wanted, and I pray that I will see her again some day. Love you Joan, may you rest in peace.

I am honored to have known Joan since the 2007 Super Bowl. I credit Joan, Mary and Maureen for starting the 39+ Singles Group at Blessed Sacrament. She was one of the finest people I've ever known in my life. She always had a kind word to say and was always a lady. I'll always remember her.

I'd known Joan since high school and had always thought that she would become a nun. Reconnecting later at the reunions, I got to know her better. I felt that she was an angel...never cross...always caring. And now I'm sure she is! I have been blessed to have known her and I pray that her family finds comfort in knowing how many lives she touched and the many who called her "friend".

I wished I got to know her better. It was my loss.

What a sweet person!  She always cared about others and I was devastated to read about her diagnosis with ALS.  She had a kind heart and helped me (and so many others) when we worked together on information technology projects for the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).  The photos reflect the wonderful person that Joan was.  Her Christmas cards were always the first that I received after moving to San Antonio, TX.  She will be missed by many.  Bless Joanie always!

What a wonderful woman Joan was!! Although not a really close friend, we were friends enough to know that she had a heart like no one!!  I have been truly inspired by her faith and love.  She will certainly be missed by all of us that were lucky enough to know her.

Joan was very diligent and exacting in the performance of her work, but what I remember most about her was her loving heart and commitment to the well being of everyone around her. You could not know and experience Joan and not come away felling that you have met a Saint.

We admired Joan for her service to others and positive attitude. We will miss her. In memory, Mr. Wayne Joncas and Mrs. Amy Joncas.

Love, hugs, and blessings to family and friends. Joan was more than a great friend; she was like the sister I never had. There are so many wonderful memories; from trips in NYC to zip lining in Massanutten to rescuing my cat in NJ.  I will always remember the laughter.

I had known Joan for many years thru the work place.  I was in the twilight of my career when we became friends while working on a long term project.  We had many lunches together, she knew where every good eating establishment was located in the area.  If you held a dessert up to her she would give you her right arm. 

Joan was a very caring and kind person, every year we would exchange Christmas cards and call each other from time to time during the year.  I deeply regret that she did not have more time to enjoy her retirement, she so looked forward to it.

Joan, a wonderful neighbor with a beautiful soul.  Thank you for your support over the years, and we will always think fondly of you as we pass your house every day.  May you rest in peace and comfort in your new home.

Joan will be so missed. She was both a coworker and a friend. I loved seeing her at plays by the Providence players. And she helped me when I had hip surgery a few years ago. She was truly a good soul. My thoughts are with her family.

Joan and I worked together for 16 years and we became very close friends. She was a very kind and forgiving person and always willing to help those in need. I will miss Joan but will always remember the time we spent together. She could always make me smile.

Working with Joan was a wonderful experience.  She helped and assisted a lot of people and was always a pleasant and delightful person.  I had the pleasure of working with her when I first started my government career.  She will be missed.  May she rest in peace.

Joan had a mass card made for me before my operation of May 24, and the operation was successful. I bought a mass card for her, and prayed and prayed, but to no avail. She had the greater spirituality. I am grateful that I knew her, even briefly.

Like most of her friends, I've known Joan for a long time. We worked together; we traveled together; we had may lunches and dinners together. She has always been a very giving person of deep faith.  She will be missed.  And I'll think of her every time someone offers me dessert-- she and I both loved desserts!

Joan was a kind, wonderful person that will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. Our sincere  condolences.

Joan worked with my late husband, Doug Walker.  I know that she is in heaven as she believed in Jesus Christ.  She is in his arms. My prayers are for Joan's family at this difficult time

Joan was truly a selfless person. She drove me to many medical appointments, including one on the day before she was diagnosed with her illness. When she was no longer able to drive me, she lined up another person. She was that way to many people. I miss her.

Joan was a wonderful person, and I always learned while working from her.  She had high expectations, and raised our level of work.   What a great and pleasant spirit.
