On Friday, January 13, 2012, of Springfield, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mattie D. and James A. Caldwell; four brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elise W. Caldwell; his devoted son and daughter-in-law, James W. and Loretta M. Caldwell; three grandsons, Brian, Keith, and Michael Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18, at First Baptist Church of Alexandria, 2932 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22302. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist of Alexandria Foundation, at the above address. Inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
