John J. McAuliffe

Age 85, of Annandale, passed away peacefully at his residence, on Thursday, January 2, 2014. Beloved husband of 38 years of Kate McAuliffe; loving father of Ellen (Matt) Shaker of Centreville, VA and Jack McAuliffe of Ballybunion, Ireland; and Pop Pop of Cat and James Shaker.

John was born on January 13, 1928 in New York City and is the son of the late John and Ellen McAuliffe. He was a WWII US Army Veteran as well as retired after 30 years of working for the Federal Government, Dept. of the US Army. John enjoyed fishing and traveling with his family to Ireland. He will be deeply missed especially by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at DEMAINE FUNERAL HOME, 5308 Backlick Rd. Springfield, VA 22151 on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, 7401 St. Michael’s Ln. Annandale, VA 22003 on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11:00AM.
