Julia Lane Fintel

Born in Louisville Kentucky in 1936, she graduated high school from Sacred Heart Academy in 1954. Following High School, she majored in English and cheering on the Dayton Flyers at the University of Dayton, Ohio while graduating with honors in 1958. She married her husband Tom Fintel, a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army in 1964 in Louisville. She moved to the Northern Virginia area in 1979. The delights of her life have been her children, tennis, travel and her continuing education with Osher Life Long Learning institute at George Mason University.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years Tom Fintel; her children; Sheila, Julia, Sarah and James. Her seven grandchildren, and her younger sister.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd. Springfield, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial, will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Church of the Nativity of Our Lord, 6400 Nativity Lane Burke, Virginia 22015. Interment will follow in the Spring, at West Point Cemetery, West Point, NY.
