

CIA Analyst (Ret.)
Of Springfield, on January 10, 2015, at the age of 88. Born May 29, 1926 in Boston, MA to Albert and Ruth Jenkins Hanson, Kenneth was preceded in death by beloved wife of 38 years Rexa Jane Hanson, dear daughter Elaine, and brother Melvin; he is survived by sons James (Jill), Bryce (Shelby), Eric (Barbara), Richard, Robert, Kevin (Linda), and Donald (Jamie); and 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Kenneth proudly served his country in 3 wars – in the US Navy during World War II, and in the Army Air Corps and US Air Force during Korea and Vietnam. He was also involved in Operation Tumbler-Snapper in 1952. He retired as a MSgt from the USAF in 1966. Following his military service, he worked as an analyst for the CIA from 1966 until his retirement in 1983.
Kenneth was a life member of American Legion Post 176 in Springfield, a 3rd degree Blue Lodge Mason, Shriner, a member of the 32nd Scottish Rite, VFW, and was a Stephen Minister for the Franconia United Methodist Church in Alexandria.
Friends welcome on Friday, January 16 from 6-8 pm at the Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield. Interment with Military Honors at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Kenneth’s memory to American Legion Post 176, 9220 Amherst Drive, Springfield, VA 22150.
