Hi Grandma,

Thanks for taking care of me when I was at an early age. I remember you and Grandpa tagging me along during grocery runs and buying me toys from that little toy store at the Eden center. I also remember watching television shows such as Arthur and the Power Rangers every day while I was there.

Also, thanks for the countless years of delicious food. You make the best curry and canh chua that I will ever taste (I can't foresee the future, but this is one thing I know for certain). Thanks for taking me and my sisters out for pho every other weekend -- it was quality bonding time and it made me love pho more and more each time.

From my youth to the day my hair turns white and I pass from this world, you will continue to be my one and only real Grandma.

May your beautiful soul rest in peace.

The loss of your A-Ma makes me sad.  I know how difficult it is for you.  Your A-Ma will be remembered as a very caring and compassionate person, and clearly you have much of her characters, Lan.  Please know that my heart goes out to you and your mother who have also tirelessly taken care of

Thank you for raising and taking great care of A-Lan for all these years.  Because of your unconditional love, endless patience, and continuous support towards her, she has grown up to be a very sweet, compassionate, and kind-hearted person.  She always spoke highly of you, as you were a great person/grandma towards her and also towards everyone else that you raised and have crossed paths with throughout your life.  Although I didn't have the opportunity to get to know you better, I am really glad that I had the chance to meet you and take you out.  

You will be truly missed and will forever live in our hearts and through our memories as the greatest A-Ma.

A-Ma was a wonderful person who devoted her entire life to care for her loved ones.  She cared for her late husband, raised six children of her own, eight grandchildren, and countless other children of friends.  My parents worked a lot for the majority of my childhood, so I was blessed enough to have spent all those years by her side.  Being an only child at the time, she was my best friend, as I was stuck to her hip all day starting at the crack of dawn.  Looking back, I adore her for her patience, as I was a very curious kid who asked questions about everyone and everything.  

People say that our loved ones always leave sooner than they should.  As naïve as it may sound, I never thought about having to live life without A-Ma.  Even though I grew older, as did she, I never imagined the day when she would no longer be here with me.  A-Ma may not be physically here with me any longer, but she'll always be with me through the memories I have of her.  She'll never be forgotten and she'll always be the greatest grandma that has ever walked this earth.  

God has gained another angel with a heart of gold.  Though it pains me, and many others, that she is no longer with us, I take comfort in knowing that she is now in a better place.  She is no longer suffering and can finally reunite with my grandpa.  Her existence has left an imprint in all of our lives.  I hope to live a life as gracious as hers.
