Leonard L. Romonoski was 90 years old, of Miners Mills section of Wilkes Barre, PA passed away on Thursday April 8th, 2021 in Fairfax, VA. Leonard L. Romonoski was born in Wilkes Barre, PA to Katherine (Pirhala) and Francis Romanoski on March 26, 1931. He went to school at Coughlin High School and joined the US Army. He married Hanako (Toni) Yamada on December 12, 1952 in Fukuoka Japan. Serving tours in Germany, then returning to the USA, Ft. Myers base in Arlington, VA., Leonard served in the US Army for over 20 years, enlisting on July 18th, 1949 to August 31, 1969 when he retired as a SFC Military Police in the 8th Infantry old guard. Leonard continued his service with the U.S. Capitol Police force from September 10th, 1969 to October 31, 1992 when he retired. Leonard was a veteran of the Korean and Viet Nam wars serving multiple tours with the US. Army and was awarded many medals and accommodations for Army Good Conduct, National Defense of Service, Korean Defense, Korean Service, Viet Nam Service, Army of Occupation, United Nations Korea, Republic of Viet Nam Campaign and the Bronze star. Leonard L. Romonoski was the third youngest child of 11 children in the Romanoski family, Leonard is preceded by death by 2nd wife Itsuko Romonoski, Sisters Katherine Leluga, Mildred Mioskie, and the Romonoski Brothers Francis, Andrew, Peter, William, George, Edward, Joseph and Gerald. Leonard L. Romonoski is survived by his ex wife Toni Romonoski, Daughter Patricia Romonoski, Son in law David Dao and Grand Daughter Christina Romonoski-Dao, Son Leonard M. Romonoski and Grand Daughter Naiyah Bradley and many nieces, nephews. Visitation will be Saturday April 17th , 2021 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at The Demaine Funeral home 5308 Backlick Road Springfield, VA 22151 www.DemaineFunerals.com Burial will be September 21st at 8:45am at Arlington Cemetery, Arrangements are by US Army.
