Lismary Rivera

Lismary was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, to Juan Montesino and Lisandra La Santa Avila on December 24, 1978. She attended school in Silver Spring, MD, and later married her beloved husband, Raul Rivera, on May 15, 1998, in Old Town Alexandria. A dedicated public servant, Lismary, worked as a bus driver for Prince William County Public Schools for 18 years, where she was a familiar and friendly face to countless students and staff.

Lismary was the life of every party. She loved music and dancing and loved her family fiercely. Especially her three beautiful children. She was a mama bear in every sense of the word!

Lismary was preceded in death by her father, Juan Montesino; her grandfathers, Rafael La Santa and Natividad Montesino; her grandmothers, Concepcion Rivera and Nydia Avila; and her uncle, Nelson De Jesus La Santa.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Raul Rivera; her three children, Kevin, Jeilany, and Anthony; her mother, Lisandra; and her brothers, Juan and Geovanny.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 14160 Ferndale Road, Woodbridge, VA 22193, with Father Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park.

Pallbearers: Raul Rivera, Kevin Rivera, Anthony Rivera, Juan Montesino, Geovanny Montesino, and Lusvin Cambara.
