At only 18, she made a brave move to Washington, DC to start a career with the government. She enjoyed being independent and took on the city by storm. Her out-going demeanor served her well- she made friends easily.
She met Richard Burnett and the rest of our story began. They were married in March of 1962 and eventually settled at 6316 Indian Run Parkway. In Bren Mar, they made a beautiful life for their children and eventually grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were pillars in the community and made many life-long friends. They were beloved by neighbors and friends of all ages.
Momeye was the life of the party, she loved Elvis, live music, laying in the sun talking to friends at the pool, yard-sales and shopping for gifts for her family year-round. The fridge was always full and she made endless pans of lasagna with her famous garlic bread, chicken and dumplings along with so many other family favorites. She really enjoyed serving her grandkids ice- cream for breakfast or whatever they wanted under the sun. As they got older, she was the first to ask about their "love life" and do anything for a laugh.
She worked so hard and was so completely grateful for her family and friends. She had a gift for finding the bright side and finding the good in everyone and anyone. She made everyone feel special and loved. She never missed an opportunity to say "I love you".
Her spark for fun, adventure, but most importantly her kindness and love will live forever in all that knew her.
