Obituary

Mark Charles West (April 18, 1955 – February 8, 2017) Mark West of Alexandria, VA, born April 18, 1955, and passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. He is the beloved son of Nellie and Benjamin Victor West, precious older brother of Debra Kings of Owings Mills, MD and Sandy Klingenstein of New Bern, NC, and quirky Uncle to Beverly McGrath, Patricia Jones, and Chris Klingenstein. Mark attended Robert E. Lee High School, and entered the U.S Marine Corp in 1972. He received the National Defense Service Medal, and Sharpshooter Rifle Badge during his service to our country. He attained the rank of Lance corporal, and received an honorable discharge in November 1976. His post military career profession was a Sprinkler Installation Technician. Mark was a wonderful son, brother, and friend to all. He loved music, especially the Beatles, John Lennon, George Harrison and the Eagles, collected and played the guitar, road his motorcycle in Southern Maryland, and enjoyed beach vacations at the Outer Banks.
