Nancy Noreen O'Kane

Nancy O’Kane was born in Mauch Chunk, Pennsylvania to James and Frances Brewster on August 6, 1937. She went to school at St. Mary’s High School in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She married James Joseph O’Kane on February 14, 1956 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with an Associate Degree in Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse in many settings over her 25 year+ career.

Nancy served as a Eucharistic Minister and Catechism Instructor at Nativity Parish in Burke, Virginia.

Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, James Joseph O’Kane.

Nancy is survived by children, Patrick O’Kane; Noreen O’Kane and Houston Smith; Michael O’Kane; Kathleen Leake and William Leake and Kevin O’Kane.

Granddaughters; Katlin James O’Kane and Claire Noreen Leake

Great Grandson; Sonny Brian Pechaty.

Private services will be held at Saint Mary’s Cemetery Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Arrangements by Demaine Funeral Home Springfield, Virginia.

Charitable contributions may be made to Service Source Inc. of Oakton, Virginia or Hartwood Foundation of Fairfax, Virginia, organizations who serve persons with intellectual disabilities.
