Nina Ann Forbes

Nina Ann Forbes, 56 of Philadelphia passed away on April 25th 2020 in Alexandria, Virginia . A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when it is safe for everyone to be together. Friends and family will be notified when information is available. Nina Forbes was born in West Chester Pennsylvania to Estelle Brown and Carl Brown on July 29th 1963. She went to school in Philadelphia Pennsylvania where she attended Northeast high school. Growing up Nina lived with her father in Philadelphia. She became very close to her step mother’s children and formed lifelong connections and relationships with them. Nina always felt accepted and embraced by their family and recalled them as her siblings. Nina worked in a variety of fields during her adult life including being a CNA for many years. Nina always had a passion however to go back to school to become a nurse, something she was able to accomplish at the age 52. This was one of Nina’s greatest accomplishments and something she worked hard for. Nina planned to go back to school to continue her education in the field and had enrolled in classes this past semester. Nina instilled a strong work ethic and the theme of perseverance in her children and those she worked with. Nina worked as a nurse for four years, most recently as a nurse for a memory care facility in Alexandria VA. Nina loved being a nurse, taking care of her clients and creating relationships with her client’s families. Nina was a huge movie fan, her favorites included Lord of the rings , Independence Day and Michael. She loved to travel and take road trips with her family . She enjoyed cooking and having Sunday dinners every week. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family during holidays. Nina was full of life and zest and she left her mark on everyone she met. Nina is lovingly remembered by her parents Estelle Brown , and Carl Brown. Her children Jason Forbes , Jessica Forbes and Jennifer Forbes. Her grandchildren Grace Forbes , Joy Forbes , Jason jr Forbes , Jor-El Forbes- Powell, Olivia Forbes and Faith Forbes. And her beloved cat Spookums. She is also remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, step sisters and brothers as well as coworkers and friends.
