Patricia was born on September 7, 1932, in Glen Ridge, NJ to Rollin S. and Alberta S. Tucker. She attended Bloomfield High School, graduating in 1950, and then attended a finishing school for business. With her father's Army Corps of Engineers transfer to Fort Belvoir, she began working at the Officers Club, assisting in event coordination. Patricia met and fell in love with Marine Corps Captain Thomas F. Manley who was then teaching at the Army Engineer School. They married in 1955 and she began her focus on raising their ever-growing family. Patricia was a model "Marine Corps Wife" and a dedicated mother - engaging, proud, and protective, a true "momma bear". She treasured her children and embraced every moment with each of them.
In 1969, Patricia re-entered the workforce following her husband's Marine Corps retirement. She began working for a public relations firm in Washington DC. She left that firm and acquired a position with a wine, food, and travel company. She traveled internationally and coordinated events at some of the finest restaurants in and around Washington DC. She moved on to positions in administrative work for the US Government, working in multiple administrative positions at the US Army Materiel Command in Alexandria, VA. She advanced in her government career to final position as the Executive Secretary for the Undersecretary of Defense, Manpower, Office of the Secretary of Defense, from which she retired in 1999.
She was always active at home doing things for neighbors, friends, and the community. As the years passed and her extended family continued to grow, she especially loved and derived much joy in her role as "Nan / Nanny Pat / Grana" to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Through the years her life became an extension of her strong Catholic faith and participation as an active parishioner of Queen of Apostle's Catholic Church and other Christian organizations. She was a layperson within the Secular Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Patricia was always grateful to God for the many blessings she was given in life.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Janet Bloom, her son John Manley, and her daughter-in law Yvonne Morris Manley (wife of son James). Patricia is survived by: her sister Nancy Albers; her daughter Kathryn Morelli (Joseph); her sons Thomas Manley Il (Annette), Gerald Manley, and James Manley; her daughter in-law Anne Manley; her nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
