Paula Brizee

Paula Brizee (née Hudson), 70, of Alexandria, Virginia passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2015. Paula was born on March 7, 1944 in Middletown, Ohio. She was the beloved mother of Allen (Elizabeth Angeli) Brizee, aunt of Jeffrey Ziegler and Adrian Miller, and great-aunt of Amanda and Abby Miller. Paula joined her sister (Barbara Miller), mother (Violet Ginn), niece (Paula Ann Coughlin, née Miller), and dear family and friends in heaven. She leaves behind many friends, co-workers, family, and her Pekingese, Barkley, all of whom she loved dearly.

Following her dreams of working in the big city, Paula moved to Washington, D.C. in 1968 to start her career on Capitol Hill, where she met Allen’s father. She moved with her family to England in 1972 and enjoyed travelling throughout Europe before returning to the United States in 1976. The family settled in the D.C. area that she loved so much, and eventually she returned to college at George Mason University. At George Mason, she completed her B.A. in anthropology, a degree that she began at Miami University Ohio many years before. Since 2000, Paula worked as the patient care coordinator at the medical office of Drs. Koslow and Hunt.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield, Virginia (5308 Backlick Road). The service begins at 1:00 PM and is followed by a gathering at Demaine. Please send donations to the American Heart Association. A burial in Middletown, Ohio will be scheduled later in spring.
