Robert Douglas Colvin

Of Springfield, VA, on March 12, 2023, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of 60 years to Judy Colvin; father of Karen Lounsbury, Kristine (John) Smith, and Kelly (Marshall) Rice; grandfather of Jennifer Smith, Colleen Lounsbury, Patrick Lounsbury, Jason Rice, Alex Rice, Grace Lyn and Matthew. Also survived by his sister Susan (Jim) Draize and niece Cathy (Doug) Berger. Bob worked for the U.S. Government Printing Office for over 40 years, retiring as an assistant comptroller. When he was not working, he was an accomplished tennis umpire, serving at the U.S. Open and the 1998 Olympics in Atlanta. Friends welcome on Friday, March 31 from 11 am – 12 pm at Demaine Funeral Home, Springfield. A service to celebrate Bob’s life will follow. Interment will be private. The family welcomes donations in Robert’s memory to the American Cancer Society as well as floral arrangements.
