Bob Connally passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013; born March 19, 1921 in Troy, NY. Iwo Jima survivor, Purple Heart awarded. U.S. Marine Corps, 5th Marine Division, 26th Marines. Survived by his wife, Patsy Jean Connally; four children, Maureen Martin, Richard Connally, Michael Connally and Philip Connally; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Retired from Federal Service, Navy Department, Bob had many interests, woodworking, bag pipe playing, life member of the International Order of the Hibernians, clans of Scotland; first Virginia regiment of the Continental Line, Director of the Lee Fendal House- Alexandria, VA; honorary member of the Judge Advocate Corps. Viewing at Demaine Funeral Home, Springfield, VA on Thursday, December 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass at Holy Spirit Church, Springfield, VA on Friday, December 6, at 11 a.m. Reception will follow Service. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
