Born in Manhattan,NY, and raised his family in North Springfield, VA. Beloved husband of Ann Riccobono Sweeney; cherished father of Laura Sweeney Vo and Erin Sweeney Portillo and grandfather of Jaden Vo; loving son of the late Mary Murphy Sweeney and Martin Joseph Sweeney. Also survived by sister Maureen Sweeney Taylor, brother Martin J. Sweeney, and sons-in-law Mike Vo and Antonio Portillo. Bob was a US Peace Corps volunteer, Afghanistan, 1966-68; Administrator, Savings Bonds Div., US Treasury Department, 30 years; N. Springfield Elementary School, PTA President.
