Visitation will be held at Demaine Funeral Home on Friday September 5, 2014 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Chapel at Greenspring, 7444 Spring Village Drive, Springfield, VA at 2 pm on Saturday September 6, 2014, officiated by Kathy Allen.

Bertie was born in Hemingford, Nebraska on December 3, 1934. At the age of 18 she moved to the Washington D. C. area. She worked in the Records Management Department at the White House for 36 years. She was actively involved in the D.A.R., Ladies of the Oriental Shrine, and Eastern Star where she held many different offices. Bertie was married to Charles W. O’Lare on June 6, 1964; they were married 29 years until his death on March 11, 1993. In 2001 Bertie married the second great love of her life, Albert Conlon. During her time at Greenspring Village she enjoyed various activities and spending time with her friends.

Bertie is survived by her loving husband Albert R. Conlon, her children Betty O. Koo and Charles R. O’Lare, grandchildren Charles J. Koo, Kelsey M. Koo, Bryce C. Koo, Cassidy A. Koo, Emily E. O’Lare, Katharine G. O’Lare and Great Grandchild Aubrey L. Koo, step-son-in-law, William B. Lillis, and his family, David M. Strole and his wife, Katie Strole, Kristine M. Lillis, Jennifer A. Lillis, Brian L. Lillis and Marjorie C. Lillis and Great Grandchildren Patrick and Alice Strole and other family and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to American Cancer Society. The family wishes to thank everyone for their support and prayers during this time.
