Who amongst us would have had the gravitas,the grace,the poise,the fortitude to do what you did knowing what you knew. That is what makes you so special . So unforgettable. With dark clouds hovering you weren't distracted you made sure your precious jewel was taken care off. You welcomed what was about to transpire and personally dictated and organized your final journey to be in the presence of God and his angels. You are in a better place Sweet Daughter, loving sister, and caring mother.You will be missed.

Sergutisha my dear, I'm still in shock and struggling to accept the fact that you have left us so soon! I can hear your voice and see your smiling face vividly. You were such a dear sister to me and I loved you with all my heart. You confided in me and I respected your wish and kept it to myself. But I must tell you that your upbeat and positive attitude fooled me. I was waiting for your return to work, and never thought I would get such news so soon after I saw you last. I lost a big sister who always gave me her honest advice in everything I pursue in life. I lost a dear and selfless friend who was always there for me whenever I needed help! You were truly one of a kind Sergutisha and I miss you every single day! I wish I could talk to you one more time! Your fond memories will keep me going! So sad to hear this news. My thoughts are with all Sergut's friends and family.

Sergut (known to me as Sue) was a wonderful inspiration of what a strong woman can be. Prior to my retirement from the World Bank Group and resettlement in Sydney, Australia, we used to catch up every so often and celebrate our one-day-apart May birthdays by going out to lunch. Chatting with Sergut -- as two single mothers -- about our respective issues with teenage children, revealed the pride she had in her daughter in terms of her talents, academic accomplishments, and strive to be a good student. Sergut's warmth and giving nature touched me in many ways. While I know that many at IFC will miss Sergut, I -- on the other side of the world in Sydney -- will also miss her in spirit. Her memory will not be forgotten.

It is with great sadness we received the news of the passing of Sergut. Our heartfelt condolences to the entire family. May she rest in Eternal Peace. Seifu Legesse and Marta Tessema.
