Stephen Gerald Mitton

Beloved husband of 56 years to Pearl L. Mitton; father of Christopher Morningstar of Manassas, VA, Jason Mitton of Roanoke, VA, Stephen Mitton of Herndon, VA, and Jeremy Mitton of Springfield, VA; grandfather of Willow Mornginstar, Cypress Morningstar, Zelkova Morningstar, and Acacia Morningstar, all of Manassas, VA, Parker Mitton of Roanoke, VA, and Esabella Ezell of Panama City, FL; and great grandfather of Leila Ezell and Danny Ezell of Panama City, FL. He is also survived by his father Gerald Mitton of Taunton, MA and siblings Mary Ellen Bagwell of Attleboro, MA, James Mitton, Timothy Mitton, and Betty Ann Beaudoin of Berkly, MA. He was preceded in death by his mother Edna Dias Mitton of Taunton, MA.

Stephen proudly served his country for 23 years in the US Navy, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. He spent his career in the IT field, retiring as an invaluable Information Systems Program Manager, working on several important government contracts.

Stephen will be laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico at a date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Stephen’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
