Susan Danielle Medina

Susan Danielle (Baker) Medina, age 46, of Ashburn VA, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in her home on Monday, May 2, 2022. Susan was born and raised in Woodbridge, VA. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, she also pursued her master’s degree from York College in York, PA. She was working as a Clinical Educator for Inova Alexandria Hospital. Susan met her high school sweetheart, Jay Medina, at Gar-Field High School. They married at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church in October 2000. Their first child, Allison Hannah, was born in April 2003, followed by Olivia Kathryn, in February 2008. Susan and Jay were raising their family in Ashburn, VA. Ever the doting mother and loving wife, Susan prioritized quality time with her family. She loved small intimate gatherings and making her home a beautiful sanctuary. She was very active and involved in her daughters’ activities – Allison was a cheerleader and Olivia plays soccer. Their favorite vacation destination was Hilton Head, SC. Susan is survived by her husband, Jay, and their children, Allison and Olivia; her mother, Mary Baker; parents-in-law, Orlando and Carmelita Medina. Susan also has a large extended family who thinks the world of her. Susan was preceded in death by her father, Stanford Baker (in 2012) and her only brother, David Baker (in 2018). Family and friends will be welcomed at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd, Springfield VA 22151 Monday, May 9th Visitation from 2:00-4:00pm. Memorial service immediately following.
