

Thomas D. Moore, of Reston, VA, passed away on Thursday August 19, 2021, at the age of 91, in Annandale, VA. His battle with numerous medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile and never complaining.
Thomas D. Moore was born on June 21, 1930, in Orlean, Virginia. He was happily married to his wife, Jean W. Moore, for over 50 years, which was a marriage filled with laughter and love that was contagious to all those around. Thomas D. Moore served during the Korean War for the United States Army where he received the “National Defense Service Medal” and the “Good Conduct Medal”. After an Honorably Discharge from the United States Army, he spent several years at the local “Esso” station, continuing to serve his community with a smile on his face. On his spare time, he began to collect coins and historical paper currency, which turned into a passion of his. On weekends, you could find him and Jean at local coin shows, sharing their knowledge and expertise to anyone in attendance.
Through his life, Thomas D. Moore was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He provided all those around him with memories of laughter, good times, and always wanted the best for his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean W. Moore. He is survived by his daughter and three grandchildren.
A private graveside service for Thomas will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Mount Comfort Cemetery, 6600 South Kings Highway, Alexandria, VA 22306.
