IN THE CARE OF

Demaine Funeral Home

Travis Earl Evans passed away at the age of 33 on Sunday, July 7, 2019 in Springfield, Virginia. He is the loving son of Calvin and Evelyn Evans; brother to Michelle Evans; grandson of Harold and Marlene Thompson and Arthur and Mary Evans; nephew of Larry and Laurie Evans, Harold Thompson, and David Thompson; cousin of Sean Evans and Andrea Scarbrough; and dear friend to too many to name. Travis was born in Oakland, California. As part of a military family, he called many places home and made many friends. He lived in California, Korea, New York, Germany, Kansas, and in 1996, the family settled in Springfield, Virginia. Travis graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 2004 and attended Virginia Tech. An entrepreneur at heart, Travis owned his own landscaping business, Springfield’s Finest, where his hard work and reliability earned the trust and respect of his many customers. Affectionately known by many of his friends as “Slim” or “Tevans,” Travis was always there with a warm embrace, an infectious smile and his larger than life personality. He could always be counted on to be there for his “Crew” and other friends. All who knew Travis were certainly aware of his love of sports and his passionate support of the Denver Broncos and the L.A. Lakers. He also thoroughly enjoyed participating in multiple fantasy football leagues and was especially proud of his 2014 win in the Coffee and Donuts League. Travis will be missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him, remaining always in our hearts. A celebration of life service will be held at Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield, Virginia on Saturday, July 20th at 2:00pm. An onsite reception will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has established the Travis Evans Memorial Fund, a donor advised fund with the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia. Contributions to the Fund will be used to make annual grants to various public charities in Travis’s memory. Additional information, regarding the Fund and donation options, is available at www.cfnova.org/travis-evans.
