Victor G Illemszky

Hungarian born Victor Gyozo Illemszky died October 1, 2014 at the Halquist Hospice Facility in Arlington VA after his fight with lung cancer. He leaves behind his 2 sons Eric Illemszky and Victor (Gy) Gyozo Illemszky II, as well as 5 grandchildren Alex, Lukas, Nikolas, Makayla, and Katherine. He will forever be lovingly remembered by Audrey Cavanagh, River Poncin, and especially by his partner Linda Hill. He was preceded in death by his mother Anna Szoloy Illemszky, his father Alexander Sandor Illemszky, and his brother Atilla Illemszky. Although divorced he was also preceded in death by his ex-wife Carol Anne Illemszky.

Victor spent several years in the 1960’s in the 101st Airborne Division. After leaving the army, he spent over 30 years as a mechanical engineer in the Washington DC area. He was a proud member of the American Legion as well as the American Society of Plumbing Engineers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Victor’s name to Capital Caring Halquist Center, 4715 15th St., Arlington VA 22205.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 9, from 11 am to 12:30 p.m., at Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield VA.
