

Virginia was born to Michael and Mary in Spangler, PA, on April 28, 1942. She grew up in Barnesboro, PA and moved to Washington, DC to work at the Department of Agriculture in 1960. She met the love of her life, Lloyd an Army Special Forces (Green Beret) who was a member of MACVSOG, in 1972 at Clyde’s of Georgetown. Lloyd was deployed one more time before they were married in 1973 and were stationed in North Carolina and Rhode Island before moving to Virginia in 1980. Virginia was an active member of VFW Post 7327 and her church. She volunteered at the White House during the George W. Bush administration, answering correspondence for the President and later the Vice President. She was a loving mom, grandma and friend.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 45 years, brother-in-laws Allen, Larry and Marlin; sister-in-laws, Barbara, Judie, Sharon and Carol; and nieces Charlotte and Sunni.
Virginia is survived by her children James (Cindy) and Jennifer (Al), brother Rudy (Pat), granddaughters Kaitlyn and Reagan, brother-in-law Jim, sister-in-laws Heidi and Lori, many nieces and nephews, extended family, and many dear friends, including lifelong friends Fran, Joyce, and Muzine.

Service will take place at the Fort Myer Old Post Chapel at 2:45 PM on Tuesday February 10th 2026, family and friends are to arrive at 2:15 PM for the service, followed by burial at the National Arlington Cemetery, and dinner in Arlington. Please note that adults need a state-issued REAL ID to enter Fort Myer, and cars will likely be searched, so please allow extra time.
