Wayne Richard Allen

It is with sad hearts that we share the death of our beloved Wayne Richard Allen, 78, of Springfield, Virginia on March 11, 2024 at Fairfax Hospital. Wayne was born in Mount Jackson, Virginia on January 21, 1946, the son of Amelia and James Allen.

Wayne shared a successful tax business with his wife, Mary Ann Allen. Wayne loved baseball and shared that love with his two sons James and Matthew. Additionally, he loved golf, crossword puzzles, and most of all his family and friends. We felt his love in all he did with and for us. Wayne's loving devotion will be forever etched in our hearts and memory.

Wayne was heavily involved with the Springfield Babe Ruth League for most of the 1990’s, including serving as the Senior League Director and the Player Agent, each for multiple years. He worked at a variety of banks in the area including Riggs, Sovran and Perpetual, in positions where he performed various systems analytics work, eventually becoming manager of data processing.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Allen, his two sons, James and Matthew, their spouses, Kristen and Jennifer, his four adored grandchildren: Jake, Luke, Theodore, and Madeline, and his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Jeannie.

Visitation will be held at Demaine Funeral Home at 5308 Backlick Rd in Springfield, VA on Friday April 19th from 11am to 2pm.
