
William Fulton (Age 89) of Alexandria received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and received his law degree from the University of New Mexico in l950. In World War II, Colonel Fulton served in the 86th Infantry Division in Germany, Austria and the Philippines. He returned to active service in the Korean War, receiving a battlefield commission with the 24th Infantry Division. In l952 he embarked upon a 31-year career in the Judge Advocate General's Corps. He served as Commandant of The Judge Advocate General's School from 1974 to 1976. Colonel Fulton retired from active duty as an Appellate Military Judge on the Army Court of Military Review in 1983. He then served as a civilian Judicial Advisor and Clerk of the Court of Military Appeals until 1997. He also served as Honorary Colonel of the Corps, Judge Advocate General’s Corp regiment from November 1990 to May 1994.
William was preceded in death by Marjorie, his loving wife of nearly 63 years. Survivors include his caring children; Sheri (Gary) Camp, William S. (Kathy) Fulton, Ill, and Michelle (Gary) Cleland; grandchildren Amanda Henry, Traci Slatterly, and William Fulton, IV; and eight great-grandchildren. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service with Full Military Honors will be held at the Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 9 am. In lieu of flowers it is asked that donations in his name be made to TJAGLCS Alumni Association, PO Box 5323, Barracks Road Station, Charlottesville, VA 22905.
