Willis "Brad" Bradley Pittman - The world lost a precious gem on February 25, 2021, when Brad Pittman of Alexandria passed away at the age of 76. He suffered from both Parkinson’s Disease and esophageal cancer. Brad was predeceased by his parents, Edward Willis Pittman and Alice Bradley Pittman of Alexandria. He is survived by his loving wife, Karrolle Rollins Pittman and devoted daughter, Nicolle Ann Pittman. He is also survived by a sister, Lynn Pittman Burgess of Richmond, and a brother, Edward Menzie Pittman of Warrenton, as well as three nieces, Elizabeth Burgess Furgurson and Catherine Burgess Green of Richmond and Summer Faith Pittman of Nashville, and three great nephews, Brycen, Aaron and Evan. Brad was a salesman for many years at Thom McAn Shoe Store in Alexandria. In 1975 he went to work for the Ramada Inn of Old Town (more recently called the Crowne Plaza) as a banquet captain. He was a dedicated employee and his work ethic was exemplary. He worked there for over 40 years before retiring. Brad had many interests. He was a devoted member and volunteer at Word of Life International Church in Springfield. He loved photography and photographed many events at the church. One of his greatest loves was music, which he inherited from his dad who played the saxophone and had his own band. Brad took up the drums in high school, played in a band, and enjoyed listening to jazz and rock all his life. He was also a faithful fan of both the Washington Football Team and Washington Nationals Baseball Team. If they won, he would call to see what you thought of the game. If they lost, he would forget it and move on - which proved to be a useful strategy! Brad’s greatest gift was his love of people. He was a friend to everyone and rarely said a disparaging word about anyone. He would always find a way to make a connection with anyone he met. He was the family historian and could remember facts and details about his early life that his siblings could not! Brad faced many challenges, but he never let anything get him down or hold him back. We will miss his kind spirit, dynamic personality and positive outlook. We were blessed to have him be a part of our lives.
