Born on October 11, 1958 in Pohang, South Korea, Yung was the eldest child of Han Yong and Sook Tae Cho. After immigrating to the United States in June 1968, she graduated from high school in Falls Church, Virginia and from college at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania with her Bachelor of Science. In her senior year at Dickinson College, she met her future husband of 41 years, James. They have been together ever since. Yung then went on to obtain her master’s degree in biochemistry from Villanova University. Yung worked for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, DC before joining Langan Associates PC as a certified public accountant in January 1994, and remained with the firm as a partner and through its merger with CliftonLarsonAllen LLP until she retired in December 2020.
Yung was happiest spending time with her family. A passionate amateur chef, Yung delighted in finding new recipes, tweaking them to suit her tastes, and feeding her family her “concoctions.” She wrote only some of her recipes down, instead insisting that “you should taste it as you go.” She enjoyed traveling, but was also very content to read and to watch television shows while cuddling on the couch with her children or her dog, Beau.
Yung is survived by her husband, James, and her children and children-in-law, Jessica and William Cullin, Daniel and Anna, and Thomas and Katie. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jun Sang and Hakyung Cho, and her sister, Kyung Hee Cho-Miller. She is also survived by four young grandchildren, Nicholas, Josephine, Oliver, and AJ. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Yung is preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, Nicholas and Inez Gallinaro, and her brother-in-law, David Miller.
Pallbearers will be Daniel, Thomas, William, Austin Cho, Matthew Cho, Maxwell Miller, and Han Miller.
