Age 91, Al passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 9, 2016. Survived by his beloved wife, Jean (née Rechkemmer); sister, Ann (Louis) Zeigler; children, Merikay (Jerry Ledbetter), Sally (Steve) Pundt, Carol (Mike Williams) and Steve Waldvogel; stepchildren, Kelly, Bill (Sarah) and Andy Beaman; grandchildren, Nathan (Becky White) and Kristen Pundt, Laurel and Chris Williams, Amy and Sam Beaman; great-grandson, Sebastian Pundt-White; many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Albert and Hazel; first wife, Helen (née Tasa); stepdaughter, Kim (Beaman) White.
World War II veteran, graduate of Navy V12 program in Mech. Eng. at Univ. of Minnesota. Devoted father and grandfather, he enjoyed sailing, biking, camping, woodworking and trains. Al touched so many lives with his big smile and kind heart, his love of family, faith in God, integrity, and passion for hobbies of all kinds. Active member of Ferguson Presbyterian Church for 70 years.
SERVICE: A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 9 at 11am at First Presbyterian Church of Ferguson. A luncheon will follow. Memorials preferred to First Presbyterian Church of Ferguson or a charity of choice.
