Anita Louise Collins (nee Ruschmeyer) was born on November 29, 1932 to parents, William and Minnie Ruschmeyer in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the youngest daughter with three siblings, Harold (Hal), Eldene (El), and Irene all of whom preceded her in death. Anita attended all Ferguson, Missouri schools and graduated from Ferguson High School in 1950. She worked 7 years for General Motors Accounting Division on Union Blvd, St. Louis, and 17 years for Famous-Barr/Northland in Jennings. She retired from there in 1993.
On May 26, 1956, she married James Barry Collins in priest parlor of Blessed Sacrament Church, St. Louis, and shared 44 years of life with him until September 2000. On April 16, 1958, they were blessed with the birth of their son, Stephen L. Collins. He was their only child and was a blessing to them many years and after the death of his father in 2000, was there to help his mother and especially in her later years when she needed more of his help.
Anita was baptised May 20, 1934 and confirmed March 25, 1945, at Immanuel E&R Church of Ferguson later became UCC. Luke 11:28, "Blessed are they who hear the word of God and keep it".
As a member all her life, she sang in Junior, Senior, and Family Choir (sang at nursing home), and volunteered on many projects like Sunday Church Bulletins, newsletter, Lent and Advent mailing, cooking for Women's Fellowship, of which she was a member and various other dinners and breakfasts with cooking groups of church. She helped with cooking applesauce for wurstmant and served 2 years at yearly dinner with her sister Eldene until she died. In younger years, Anita liked to bowl with family on Saturday nights and in a league during the week. All volunteering at church done until she could no longer physically or not driving anymore. She relied on people for awhile until she felt she could no longer do so.
She had many happy memories shared with family and friends over the years which she tried to share with surviving nieces, nephews, and her son, Stephen.
She is survived by her son, Stephen, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great great nieces and nephews, some of which tried to keep in touch with in later years through GrandPad which Stephen got for her over her protests, but was glad later after using it.
Love to all from Mom, Anita, Aunt Anita, and Neetz
