Bryan Dale Turner, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away June 4th 2026 after a lengthy hospital stay. Bryan was born in Pekin, Illinois on June 27th to Edith and Virgil “Bud” Turner. While still a newborn, Bryan’s grandfather, Otto, gave him the nickname that followed him for the rest of his life, Squeak. Bryan lost his father in 1992, his mother in 2014, and his brother, Gary, in 2009. Bryan’s two younger brothers, “Buddy” and Mike, both live in Illinois. He left behind a legacy of devotion, integrity, and warmth. Bryan lived a life marked by service, hard work, and deep love for his family, his church, and his friends.
A Life of Service
Bryan answered the call to serve his country as a member of the United States Army, where he was stationed both in Florida and Germany between 1966 and 1972. During his time in the military, Bryan worked on the Nike Missile Program, contributing to national defense with dedication and skill.
Professional Accomplishments
After his honorable discharge, Bryan entered the business world, joining his father-in-law in one of Illinois’ first vehicle testing stations. His entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic paved the way for a successful career. Bryan later brought his talents to Caterpillar Tractor Company in Peoria, Illinois, where he was quickly recruited into their management program. In 1985, Bryan received an offer from Ford Motor Company, prompting a move to St. Louis in 1986, where he continued to excel and provide for his family.
Family and Personal Life
Bryan was married to his beloved wife, Louella, for 56 years, celebrating their most recent anniversary in May 2026. Together, they built a close-knit family, raising three sons: Sean, Joel, and Josh. Bryan was also blessed with a wonderful daughter-in-law, Shannon, and two cherished grandsons, Nathan and Caleb.
Retirement and Enjoyment
Bryan retired in 2008, embracing the opportunity to spend more time with loved ones and pursue his passion for golf and travel. He found great joy on the golf course, where he forged friendships and enjoyed the tranquility of the game. He decided to travel in an RV, pulled by a big Ford truck and over the next 10 years they visited almost all of the lower 48 states.
Legacy
Bryan will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his exemplary service to his country, and his professional achievements. His kindness, humor, and sometimes gruff, sometimes gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. Bryan leaves behind a loving family, countless friends, and memories that will be cherished forever.
