

Charlie moved to Missouri where he attended and graduated from Soldan High School. Following graduation Charlie enlisted into the Navy. After being discharged from the Navy, he met and married Alma Elizabeth (Betty). To this union 1 child was born, Tammy Tate.
Charles’ wife Betty passed away while Tammy was in high school. Charlie made sure that his only daughter’s life would continue to be filled with love and laughter, as her mother would have expected. Charlie and Tammy bonded even closer, so that Tammy became Charlie’s shadow.
After working 30 years, Charlie retired from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. He enjoyed his retirement by playing golf, fishing, and taking care of his brother and parents. He especially enjoyed watching his grandson’s football games.
Charlie and Judy Reynolds reunited and married during their golden years and enjoyed their companionship until she passed away.
Charlie Tate is survived by his daughter Tammy Tate, grandson, EJ McMiller, great grandchildren, Geovonnie(Peanut), Elijah, and Bella. sisters, Jo Ann Cruse, Nancy Clubb, baby brother Joseph Tate and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bob and his only granddaughter Amanda Elizabeth McMiller.
A graveside service will be held at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, located at 11101 St. Charles Rock Rd., St. Ann, Missouri, 63074. The service is scheduled for October 21, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
