Although I knew Clara for such a short time, I felt like I knew her a lifetime. I am so happy that she was a part of the sorority and that I met Margaret as well. The St. Louis Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau has suffered a deep loss at the passing of your dear mother. National Headquarters has been notified and Clara will be remembered  in a memorial ceremony at the 2012 National Convention in Indianapolis. Personally, Clara was a friend, confidant, mother figure, sister, role model, teacher, and mentor. I will miss her.

I met Clara at the first luncheon I had attended with the class of 1947. What a delightful person. When she learned I was affiliated with our school newsletter she told me of pictures, articles and artifacts she had saved from her high school days. 

Clara brought her treasures to the next luncheon to show me and others her collection of high school memories. She allowed me to take them home so I could make copies so they could be shared with other alumni at each multi-class reunion held every 3 years. Her 'story' will be enjoyed and treasured by many for years to come. She was indeed one classy lady proving 'Once a Trojan always a Trojan!'.

We miss you already Aunt Clara. You were the glue that held us all together. Love Jean and Rose.

I'm gonna miss my Great Aunt Clara! But I do take comfort in knowing that she's home with her Savior Jesus Christ. She was a loving person who always had a smile on her face. She would light up a room just by entering it with that beautiful smile of hers. My prayers go out to her daughters. I pray that the Prince of Peace will give them peace in their hour of need. My deepest sympathy to you,  Margaret, and to you, Elizabeth.  I was so saddened when I received your e-mail about your mother's passing.  Clara and I knew one another from our teaching days in Normandy, although we taught at different schools.  Later, after retirement, we would see one another at the NTA-Retired teacher luncheons at Glen Echo.  Clara was always friendly and always had a smile.  She and Marge Wick were my sponsors when I was asked to join the College Club of St. Louis.  I know she enjoyed helping Margaret with her classroom activities, and it gave her great pleasure to make decorations and centerpieces for many of our College Club luncheons.  It was so good to see her at one of our first  meeting this fall. We will certainly miss her.

My deepest condolences to the family of Clara.  It was my good fortune to meet Clara as a member of Kappa Kappa Iota.  Even though we belonged to different St. Louis chapters, I remember her opening her home to host the Council meetings during the year.  She was a most hospitable and gracious hostess.  Later on, when she became a member of my chapter, Iota, I was able to get to know her much better and that only reinforced my belief in her as a genuine wonderful person.  She always cared for and about other people.   I am sure she was a wonderful teacher just by the way she treated everyone.  I will miss her presence in my life.

As in a previous email, I stated how sad I am to learn of Clara's passing. She was a sorority sister (AlphaSigmaTau) and served on my College Club committee for the Birthday/Scholarship Benefit Event and party.  She was a sweetheart. One of the last events she made had a Texas/cowboy theme and
Clara without being asked made everyone a cactus magnet. I will always remember that smile. She was always gracious and friendly and never complained. She will be missed and remembered fondly. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family. God Bless Her and may God bless you her

I am sorry for your loss, Liz and Margaret, but we know how Clara lived life out...JOYFULLY and ever faithful.  Her gentle and loving teaching extended to ALL children in her care and beyond.
