She was born on June 22, 1925, to the late John and Ella Roundtree. From an early age, Delma accepted Christ as her Savior and remained steadfast in her faith throughout her life. As a young girl, she was an active member of her church choir, where her love for worship and fellowship first began.
On August 8, 1950, Delma married the love of her life, Richard Lee Curry. Together they shared 39 wonderful years of marriage until Richard’s passing. Their union was built on love, faith, and a deep commitment to family.
Above all else, Delma cherished her role as a wife, mother, and homemaker. Raising her children and caring for her family brought her the greatest joy and sense of purpose. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and knitting, creating handmade treasures that will be cherished by her family for years to come.
Delma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Lee Curry; her children, Ernest Curry and Delma Renee Brown (née Curry); her parents, John and Ella Roundtree; and her siblings, James Roundtree, Virgil Roundtree, Viola Roundtree, Thelma Roundtree, Henry Roundtree, Florence Whaley (nee Roundtree), Josephine Taylor (nee Roundtree), and Helen Taylor (nee Roundtree).
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Regenia Jackson, Seretha Curry, Richard Curry, Sylvia Curry, Florence Curry-Brown, Henry (Anita) Curry, Anthony Curry, JoAnn Curry, and Betty Curry. She is also lovingly remembered by her 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom will cherish her memory and miss her dearly.
Delma’s legacy is one of faith, unconditional love, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. The lessons she taught through her kindness, resilience, and caring spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations can be made in Delma’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
A visitation for Delma will take place on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at at Alexander White Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 St. Charles Rock Rd, St. Ann, MO 63074 with a service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial immediately to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
