She kept her age a guarded secret for as long as she could, requesting that the birth date space on her head stone read “MYOB.” Delores passed away on March 19, 2013 -- perhaps revealed for the first time to many who knew and loved her-- at the age of 87.
Delores Lally was born November 8, 1925, in St. Louis, a daughter of Lee and Frieda Griffith, nee Fitzmeyer. She married Robert E. Lally in 1948, and was preceded in death by him on July 22, 1989.
Delores leaves to mourn her passing children Judy (Donald) Plank, Janice (Fred) Boehm and Robert (Pat) Lally; grandchildren Shawn, Ryan and Patrick Lally, Peter and Jason Plank and Nick Boehm; great-grandchildren Jack, Marin, Cameron, Evan, Liam and Charlotte, and a sister Shirley Gaffney. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Timothy Lally, great-granddaughter Madison and a brother Melvin Griffith. She was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2013, at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home, Visitation is Friday at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
