Ed was the loving husband of over 40 years to Shirley Belter (nee: Kinker); devoted father of Deborah Covert and her late husband Cliff Covert, Norma Belter, and Edward A. Belter, Jr. and his wife Neha Belter; dear step-father of Brad Schrick and his wife Lynn Orr, Brenda Roever and her husband Keith Roever, Sandy Lowe and her late husband Dan Lowe; and adoring grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Ed is also survived by a son in law, Larry Constantino; sister in law, Carol Belter; and many other extended family members and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Katy Belter; brother, Herman Belter; sister, Genevieve Kovacich and her husband Frank; daughter, Cathy Belter; and step daughter, Cindy Constantino.
Ed proudly served in the US Marine Corps Reserves for 4 years during the Korean War. After his military service, he went to work as a Tool and Die Maker for a number of different companies over the years. He retired from Crane National Vendors in 2000. He was a long-time member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church of Hazelwood, and an active member of the Missouri Promenaders Square Dance Club in Overland. Ed will be remembered as a down to earth guy who always had a smile on his face. He had an ever positive demeanor, and it was infectious to everyone around. There was never a bad time to be had if Ed was there. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
