Lueckerath, Elmer W. on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the age of 98. Preceded in death by his parents, John William and Anna Elizabeth (nee Langenegger) Lueckerath; a sister Marie Lueckerath Essock ; and a brother Edward Lueckerath. Survived by his nieces; Ann E. Higdon, and Susan M. Essock; a nephew Edward A. Essock; and he was the great uncle of 6 nieces and nephews.
Elmer also enjoyed the companionship of his cat, Mr. Buffet. Elmer was a lifelong resident of Ferguson, MO. A graduate of Washington University and Ferguson High School. Elmer had many interests and honors; he was very active in high school sports and was the captain of his varsity basketball team; he was president of the student body of Ferguson High School. During his teen years, Elmer won 3 international model airplane championships. Elmer is a veteran of WW II having served in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant JG. During his career he was employed by McDonald Douglas, Falstaff Brewing Co., and Anheuser Busch as a Mechanical Engineer.
