Emma Starr was a wonderful devoted mother and a favorite aunt. She passed away peacefully on March 9, 2012, at Edwardsville Care and Rehab in Edwardsville, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Robert Starr.
She is also survived by children Diane (David) Gray, Robert (Shirley) Starr and John Starr.
Mrs. Starr was a proud homemaker and active in her church, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bridgeton. She was a member of the quilter's guild and women’s fellowship. In her early life she worked in a munitions plant in St. Louis during World War II. Mrs. Starr was also described as a very talented seamstress.
She was a graduate of Collinsville (Ill.) High School and was Captain of the Collinsville Drum and Bugle Corps.
Family and friends will gather for a visitation and funeral service on Wednesday March 14, 2012, at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home 11101 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, Mo. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
