Frederick Thomas Bryant, 82, of St. Ann, MO went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Leona Rose (nee Hennen); brother, Harry (survives Louise) Bryant; and a sister, Irma (Dick) Harding-Marello. Fred is survived by his children, Fred (Pam) Bryant of Panama City Beach, FL and Pam Smotherman of St. Ann, MO; grandchildren, Jason (Ammie) Bryant, Jennifer Bryant, and Brandon (Cayla) Smotherman; great grandchildren, Jadon and Kayden Bryant and Nory, Tessa, and Corinne Smotherman; and sisters, Lucille (Harry) Valora-Haeusser and Lorraine (Vernon) Lawrence.
Fred was born in St. Louis on February 6, 1934 to Thomas Austin and Anna May (nee Dunlap) Bryant. He lived a very full and active life serving his Lord and Savior and was a fun-loving man who loved his family. He and Leona raised their children to be faithful and kind. In Fred’s younger years, he liked to squirrel and rabbit hunt, fish, and camp. He was a faithful member of the New Beginnings Church of God in St. Peters. He was an amazing handyman who loved to tinker with things and could fix anything! After retiring from McDonnell Douglas after 37 years, Fred and Leona loved to bargain shop—often attending garage sales, fixing items purchased, and then re-selling them. Fred loved eagles for their beauty and their symbolism and spent a lot of time reading and studying his Bible (reading it through twice a year) and spreading the word of the Lord. His favorite thing to do was to go to church with his wife. He also loved to travel, loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren so very much. He was loved and will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him.
Friends may visit on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann. Service is at the funeral home on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. following a short visitation at 10 a.m. Fred will be laid to rest beside his wife at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to New Beginnings Church of God or the American Cancer Society. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.alexanderstlouis.com
