Harold J. Polston, 91, of St. Ann, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2013, with his family at his side. He was the husband of 66 years of Marjorie Polston, nee Taynor. He is survived by children Dan Allen, Frank Polston and Linda Polston; a sister Rose Corder; grandchildren Danny, Joe and Wes Allen and John Polston; six great-grandchildren and ten nieces and nephews.
Mr. Polston was a World War II Veteran and served his country proudly as a soldier in the famous Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes Mountains during the bitterly cold winter months December 1944 and January 1945.
He returned to his hometown of St. Louis where he became a 50 year member of IBEW Local #1, retiring from Soundoiler Inc. Mr. Poulston was an avid hunter and fisherman. His son Frank described him as a great guy who lived a great life and personofied those of "The Greatest Generation."
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013 and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 4, at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, Mo. 63074. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
