Ida Lee (Hull) Cookson

Ida Lee (Hull) Cookson, age 85, of Ferguson, Missouri passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 7, 2023. Ida was born in St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dillard and Maggie (Narens) Hull, along with her husband, Noel Cookson, Sr., and her two children; Karen and Douglas Cookson.

She leaves behind her loving children, Noel, Jr., (Jane) Cookson, and Laura (Andrew) Staebel. Ida was an adoring grandmother to Austin, Emmett and Adam.

Ida was a woman of faith and devotion to God. She has left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have shared in her life. She departed this world, surrounded by the love she so generously gave to her family and friends. Ida’s heart overflowed with love for her family, and her joy was found in bringing them together during holidays. Her warm embrace and the aroma of her special pies will forever be cherished memories for those who were fortunate to gather around her table.

Ida found solace and joy in her flowering garden. Her love extended beyond the garden to the feathered friends she welcomed with open arms, ensuring they were well-fed and cared for. A compassionate soul, Ida had a special place in her heart for all animals, embodying kindness and understanding.

As we mourn the loss of Ida, let us also celebrate the rich tapestry of a life lived with faith, love, and commitment to her family. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration.

A visitation for Ida will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 221 Church Street, Ferguson, MO 63135. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, at the same location. Ida will be laid to rest with her beloved, Noel at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5200 Lucas and Hunt Road, St. Louis, MO 63121.
