In loving memory of James “Tim” Barry, born on December 17, 1944, and peacefully passed on December 30, 2023. Tim came from a proud Irish family, he was the beloved son of Rose and Andrew Sr., cherished brother of Andrew Jr., Geri, Tom, Rita, Kate, Pat, Larry, Joe, and Martha. Devoted husband to Nancy, a loving father to Mark (Michele), Bryan (Dyan), and Paulette (Bill). Proud grandfather to Beth, Stephen, Allie, and Bennett, and great-grandfather to Paizley, Brycen, Paxton, Everett, and Arlo.
Tim’s greatest source of happiness was his family, especially his adored grandchildren. A veteran of the United States Army, he exemplified commitment and honor in all aspects of his life. As a committed member of the IBEW Local #1, he applied his expertise in electrical services selflessly, dedicating his time to generously assist those in need. He proudly served his community by being elected to the Bridgeton City Council in 1979, where he dedicated one term of service. Tim loved politics and he remained involved as a committee member and campaigner at Bridgeton City Hall until 2021. Tim always felt he could make a difference in his community, and through action and dedication, he did.
Tim, a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved cheering for his favorite team. He enjoyed sports, often attending games with family and friends. Over the years, Tim attended countless sporting events where he cheered on his favorite athlete, his grandson Stephen.
His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched, leaving behind a rich tapestry of community service, family devotion, and a love for life.
A celebration of life for Tim is planned for Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Alexander White Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074, and beginning at 2:00 PM. At 2:30 PM, there will be a memorial service, after the service the gathering will continue on until 4:00 PM.
